Coronary artery disease evolution in bare-metal stent implantation: safety and efficacy of REBELTM platinum–chromium coronary stent system
نویسندگان
چکیده
2014 Coronary artery disease affects over 5,000,000 people worldwide. Despite technology evolution and extension of indications of drug-eluting and bioresorbable stents, bare-metal stents play an important role to treat single lesions less than 15 mm of length and/or greater than 2.5 mm of diameter. The REBELTM stent is made from a new platinum–chromium alloy combined with a customized stent architecture and an enhanced delivery system that allows improved performances of this stent such as high radial and axial strength and lower stent recoil. The feasibility and efficacy of percutaneous implantation has been studied worldwide with a prospective, single-arm, multicenter, clinical trial with a de novo atherosclerotic coronary artery lesion currently underway.

Clinical utility of platinum chromium bare-metal stents in coronary heart disease
Coronary stents represent a key development for the treatment of obstructive coronary artery disease since the introduction of percutaneous coronary intervention. While drug-eluting stents gained wide acceptance in contemporary percutaneous coronary intervention practice, further developments in bare-metal stents remain crucial for patients who are not candidates for drug-eluting stents, or to ...

The development of coronary stents represents a major step forward in the treatment of obstructive coronary artery disease since the introduction of percutaneous coronary intervention. The initial enthusiasm for bare metal stents was, however, tempered by a significant incidence of in-stent restenosis, the manifestation of excessive neointima hyperplasia within the stented vessel segment, ultim...
متن کاملAcute and Long Term Outcomes of Coronary Intervention in Unprotected Left Main Lesions
Introduction : Significant left main coronary artery stenosis jeopardizes the entire myocardium of the left ventricle and has the worst prognosis of any form of coronary artery disease. Coronary-artery bypass grafting (CABG) has been considered as the standard therapeutic approach for such patients. There are limited data on the safety and effectiveness of percutaneous coronary intervention (PC...

Background and Purpose:Coronary artery Stenting is known to improve the outcome for ischemic heart disease. Many clinical studies have been performed to determine the long-term outcome of coronary Stenting and most of them were based on first-generation bare-metal Stents. The aim of this study is to evaluate long-term (24 6.4 month) results of second-generation bare metal stent. Materials an...

Drug-eluting stents (DES) offer reduced rates of clinical and angiographic restenosis compared with bare-metal stents in patients with symptomatic coronary artery disease. Despite availability of multiple different DES, concerns remain regarding relative efficacy and long-term safety. A DES that has optimal efficacy that extends to higher risk cases – specifically to maintain low restenosis rat...
